Topaz Systems and WWNotary Partner to Provide Electronic Notarization Solution

Simi Valley, CA Nov. 30, 2004 Topaz Systems, Inc. and WWNotary, L.L.C. (www.wwnotary.com), have partnered to provide a web-based electronic notarization solution. With WWNotary’s DigaSign electronic notarization product, users in industries such as real estate, government, law, insurance, title, and banking can add their unique biometric signatures to documents and processes transacted with DigaSign’s digital signature and encryption technology. This technology has already changed the way electronic documents are notarized and processed.

“WWNotary chose Topaz to complete our DigaSign notarization technology because of their outstanding quality and range of signature pad options, powerful bundled software development and signature authentication tools, experience, and intellectual property,” said Bob Rice, CEO of WWNotary. “Topaz is the only supplier of electronic signature products to offer this complete package. We were able to easily integrate the SigPlus software that is freely available for download from topazsystems.com.”

WWNotary’s DigaSign web-based notarization service utilizes the latest encryption and security technology to ensure that a document remain confidential and cannot be altered once posted to the central server. Because it is web-based, DigaSign can be used by parties in different cities, states, and countries to finalize notarized documents instantly. DigaSign’s secure, patent-pending technology exceeds Federal mandates such as ESIGN and UETA and State regulations regarding Internet security, encryption, and the use of electronic and digital signatures. On November 1, 2004, DigaSign was used to complete the first electronic real estate closing in the state of Texas, and one of less than ten such acts ever performed in the United States.

“DigaSign and Topaz signature technology together create an outstanding tool to easily notarize critical documents electronically,” said USNA President Marc Aronson. "The United States Notary Association (www.enotary.org) is supportive of these developments and monitoring them closely for their impact on the notary profession."

“Topaz is proud to support WWNotary and DigaSign with biometric handwritten signature capture and authentication technology,” said Anthony Zank, President of Topaz Systems, “This partnership is another example of our commitment to bring the benefits of e-commerce to new business applications within established technical, practical, and legal guidelines.”
